Tour leader
What you’ll do
At Boat Bike Tours, you shape the entire travel experience. You combine professionalism, dedication, and curiosity with strong leadership and a passion for culture and discovery.
Together with our guests, you stay on board a comfortable, small-scale passenger vessel, your floating hotel. During the day, we guide cycling tours of approximately 30 to 60 km along carefully selected routes. Sometimes you cycle with the group, sometimes guests ride independently, but you are always responsible for oversight, safety, and coordination.
You:
· present yourself confidently and professionally
· provide clear briefings and inspiring presentations about the region
· share your knowledge of history, nature, and culture in an engaging way
· anticipate needs and handle unexpected situations calmly and solution-oriented
· work closely with the crew and the BBT office
Group safety is always the top priority. Whether navigating busy city traffic, narrow bike paths, or windy dikes, your strong cycling skills and reassuring presence ensure that guests feel safe and well guided.
You are a true BBT Tour Leader
A great BBT Tour Leader is curious, professional, and inspiring. You are both a storyteller and an organizer. You think ahead, maintain oversight, and create a warm and positive group atmosphere.
You:
· are well-presented and radiate confidence
· communicate clearly and listen attentively
· are culturally aware and build trust with international guests
· remain calm under pressure and act proactively
· feel comfortable leading groups and speaking in public
· have strong coordination skills
· collaborate naturally with crew and partners
· bring humor and positive energy
Additionally, you are a skilled cyclist, confident in challenging situations, and familiar with bike fitting and basic technical checks. For you, safety is not secondary, it is a priority.

Availability of at least 8 weeks during the travel season 2027 (spring to autumn), preferably a minimum of 10 tours per season
Strong language skills: English, Dutch, and German are required (French is a plus)

Interest in or knowledge of local history, nature, and culture
Comfortable using cycling and navigation apps

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive daily fee between €170 and €220 gross. On board, you will have your own cabin, sometimes compact, but comfortable and private.
You will work in an international environment, along beautiful European routes, with committed colleagues and guests who consciously choose an active and meaningful travel experience.
